Caught this piece on my commute home from DC late yesterday. An American-owned Russian maker is caught up in all the stuff over there. Sounds like a US maker is ramping up. Apologies if this has been posted before.

Right - who cares about the innocent victims of this mad war as long we can get tubes fo our amps.

I realize this may quite well be a political statement - and therefore agree fully, if it is removed.

But we have over 800 miles of borderline w you know who.

I'm worried.

I also thought that was an interesting story. Didn't realize before hearing that radio broadcast, that a guy from the US owned that tube-manufacturing company.

Your concern is understandable, Nuuska.

That guy is Mike Matthews, of Electro-Harmonix/New Sensor/Sovtek (and Guild Foxey Lady) fame. He was one of the first guys to go into Russia after the fall, and built his business on what was at the time a much more open and Westward-looking place.

The picture is much, much different thirty years later, and I'm very concerned for everyone on the globe. I'm sure Mike Matthews is too.

I'm a tube guy, but I've got what's probably a lifetime stash of the NOS tubes I need. I'm looking forward to what Western Electric will have to offer in the future.
