Guild X350 X375 pushbutton sound improvements ?

Al Dronge was a pretty good jazz player and the tone at the time was no treble all bass. So it doesn't surprise me that muffled might be the tone wanted. Franzes are probably what were available as opposed to what Al desired.

Did the Gibsons of the time like the Switchmaster use the same kind of wiring (capacitors that couldn't be bypassed)?
