Your guitar is totally different from the later X160 model. Basically your guitar is a less ornate X170; the later model is based on a X150. Your guitar has a relatively shallow depth around 2.5 inches while the later model is greater than 3 inches deep. Yours started out as a X160 and was modified with a Bigsby where as the later model came stock with a Guildsby. Your model came with a wooden floating bridge and the later model had a bigsby floating metal bridge. The biggest difference are the pickups, sound post and controls. You got the HB1's the later Dearmond reissued 2000 single coils. Yours also has a sound post under the bridge.
I have both models and like both. If I had my way I would have blended both features onto the smaller X160/170 platform. I like the comfort of the smaller body X160/170 and the independent controls and sound post but like the DeArmond 2000. I also like the stock Chrome hardware and Guildsby.
I had tried to modify a blond X170T a while back by adding a set of Gretch Dynasonics but the height of the pickup had interference with the strings and the very large Alinico pickup pole pulled the strung out of tune.
So I don't think it is a question if better just dufferent.
