I just bought this amp and was wondering if any of you may have some input.

Anything at all (good and bad) would be appreciated.

I have a '64 T1-12 just like yours. I recapped and put a 3-prong on it. It is my "go-to" amp for low volume practicing/playing. Very rich harmonic distortion when the volume is turned all the way up and sounds great with a tubescreamer in front of it. The tremolo is pretty much useless, especially without a foot switch...but the tones I can get out it with a P-90 or humbucker equipped guitar are pretty rich at low volumes. Mine also has the original CTS Alnico speaker, which by most accounts would be better suited to be replaced by a more efficient speaker, but I tend to like it's early break up and lower volume characteristics. It just sounds "old school" to me. It's not a loud amp by any means, but it definitely has it's own character.

Also, if interested, here is an earlier thread I started about my amp.

You can get generic single button footswitches fairly cheap that will work for the tremelo. That's what I did with my '60 99J. (And, yes I agree, I've not found much use for the tremelo; although if you keep it very low, it can add a little character without being overt.)

Unfortunately, there is no input for a foot switch on this amp. I could easily add one, but for as much as I might use it, I am not sure I should go through the effort. This is by no means one of the "better" tremolo amps I have. If I feel the urge to warble, I will typically play from another amp that does it better. :)

Many of these earlier amps typically come with a 12" Oxford speaker (ergo the model number T1-12). However Guild began to also install 10 inch speakers as shown in this amp. I have also hears of 8" speakers being used but I have never seen one and I have seen many.

These are nice little amps. I do recommend the T1 RVT amp. It is by far the best sounding of this model. It has a hard wired reverb and tremelo foot switch. Most importantly it has a great sounding "speaker driven" reverb design which uses a small 4 watt amp to drive the dedicated 8 inch reverb speaker while keeping the "dry" sound of the guitar coming out of the 12 inch speaker.
