Guild Starfire 6 Inquiry

Ive got the opportunity to purchase this late '70s Starfire-6 for $2500. I rarely see them that low, and I'm dubious as to why. I noticed this issue in the back of the headstock. Anyone have some insight or advice? It plays and sounds great, but I'd like to make sure that I'm not missing anything else.

It looks like there was a sticker (store tag?) there. The residue should be able to take off with any number of products (test first!).
