The New Pornographers are a Vancouver-based Canadian indie group. Their existence is as intermittent as their membership is fluid. Core members are involved in a wide variety of other projects. Still there seems to be a general commitment to keeping the group going.
Here, (sort of) leader, front man, Carl Newman, is using an M-75
Major partner in crime, Dan Bejar, appears in the second tune with a 70s-era (stencilled head stock) mahogany-looking Guild acoustic. I don't know what it is. Bejar seems to wander on and off stage a bit. The hog-looking Guild acoustic appears in other hands from time to time.
And
Neko Case , too ... . There is a story about how the lovely American vocalist and tenor guitar affectionada ended up in an oddball eccentric Canadian West Coast indie band (well ... I am sure there is), but I don't know it.
I thought I saw another Guild head stock sticking up from amongst the B-line gear towards the back of the stage but I could be wrong.
