My vote is for D-35, as well.
Great song and great clip of one dynamic duo.
The second part with Steve doing a solo is as poignant as it gets. What a fine guitarist he was. That little guy could play.
Thanks for starting my day youtubing instead of watching the news!! :D

My next class at the Old Town School of Folk Music is "The John Prine Songbook". Can't wait!

Thanks for that, jg, brought a tear to my eye. Seems the good, they die young (then I should live a long life :D )

That is the exact cut from the John Prine Live album, by the way. I love to play that song, my partner has just gotta learn the Steve Goodman part!

Tony, sounds like a great class featuring the music of one of your hometown boys! Have a blast.

It amazes me what that man can do with 3 chords

You may have noticed I did my original post very early in the morning. I'd just finished watching the dvd Steve Goodman Live From Austin City Limits and More. Steve was so amazing and it was a treasure for me to find this dvd on Netflicks (I already ordered my own copy this morning). The extra bonus was to see John playing a Guild...so I went searching for the link on YouTube and found it. If you aren't familiar with the dvd, here's a great review that reflects exactly what I saw and heard.
Music Review: Steve Goodman DVD I'm listening to Steve's Anthology: No Big Surprises now, musically and memory wise this is a wonderful day..glad you enjoyed the link. Joan

Amen, Amen. Goodman was an incredible talent. Glad that I was able to see him a number of times and even chat with him for a few moments. This is another great disk I think everyone should have. Get this along with the Les Paul documentary! (And yes, I do have stock in Amazon)
