Guild missing headstock veneer - what to do

Let's hope that veneer does fit. Ohhh...you mean...say, did I ever tell you why I named my very first steel string guitar "Stringeater"?

A Carlos with one of those adjustable saddles. Metal, with a pretty acute angle on the edge...it's how I first discovered the advantages of an .026 G string.... :lol:
I still have her, but her neck has become a bit twisted over the intervening 30 years...even without string tension...

The cheap ones will do that! Metal saddle too. :shock:

Gotta give 'er her due, she travelled a couple thousand miles around the region slung over my back with nothing more than a strap, built like a tank too. Earned my busking stripes with that one. 8)

No worries Sandy........I lamented their loss one time already, when I woke to find that I was outbid and lost them altogether. I shall cry No more! :lol:

If you're not in a rush and I come across the original style veneer for mine while looking for parts I'm more than happy to part with it for what I paid. :wink:

I did Ralf. They seem to be taking an inordinate amount of time to get here from the UK, but the seller told me that they have been sent. I'm going to keep one to replace the veneer on my money pit F212XL

The other one I'm going to send to our friend Down Under, and we're going to split the cost. Two for $75 including the shipping. Not too bad.

Would this do you any good on your twelve string?

Thanks Nigel. I'm watching it, but I don't know for sure if it will fit on mine, whereas the blank will (if it ever gets here). Did all Guild 12ers have the same size headstock? It looks like my F212XL is identical to my old D25-12, but beyond that I have no idea. Hans?

Two Cs, that would be almost un-Guild like to standardize. Just an observation, though.
