Sorry, missed your post. I don't have a good idea on these. Mine has a capacitor with "1955" stamped on it in orange paint. I'm guessing that the 40-T was offered from the mid fifties through the early sixties. Pictures would be cool and would help with the knowledge base.
I'm familiar with the usual dating methods. The pots are
Soldered in big time, speaker code is 336057
Western electric, not sure on the code though... 1957?
I would have thought 1960 but the 57th week?
It's a split chassis, black w sparkles and white splatter cloth

You have to have them hosted elsewhere. Imageshack is still free, iirc.
