Comparing the GSR bridge to a F-512 bridge and a F-55 bridge:

Ralf, nice job with the comparison photos. I assume you sized them so they are all the same scale?

That's really difficult using 3 different pictures from various sources as slight angles in a picture can change the size visible. I just double checked and I have adjusted the string spacing of the 6 strings to be the same, so you see that the standard F-55 has a smaller wooden bridge compared to the GSR model. For the 12 string F-512 I don't know the spring spacing between low E and high e compared to the 6 strings but I know the bridge has to be bigger than the standard 6 string. The total length of the 12 string bridge is the longest of all 3.
At the end I adjusted all 3 pictures to have the same length of the bone saddle, as the saddle should be the same on all 3.

Ralf,

If you don't mind, I overlaid the two bridges and used the pin spacing as an alignment reference. Is the spacing of the pins consistent between the two? If so, then it will look like this.

Great job! I just assumed that both use the same saddle and also would have the same spacing of the strings.
So clearly in the overlay you see the much bigger bridge on the GSR. Means the force of the strings is much better distributed and you won't have a problem of a warped soundboard anytime soon I guess.

But if you warp the top, there is a lot of room behind the pins to accommodate a "Bridge Doctor." And with a matching abalone dot inlay, it won't look so bad on this bridge. I guess the new bridge adds some "future-proofing" to the mix, a future most of us hope never to see.
