I'm new to Guild (and this Forum). Can someone please help me understand the Guild Model Numbers? I am particularly interested in the "jumbo" bodies but I cannot tell you a JF4 NT from an F512, etc. Could someone please lay out the pecking order?

I do understand "GAD", "NT", and in most cases "J", "D", but not "F".

Sorry for my confusion and thanks for your help. It doesn't have to be every model just help understanding the basics. Say an undergraduate education.
Thanks.

Not many here understand the full spectrum of what Guild guitars offer, but we are trying diligently to acquire one of each to fully be able to answer your question....  Welcome aboard, you'll learn a lot here, not always about Guilds, but that too. Steffan

NOTE that Westerly Guild Guitars is a great OVERVIEW site. BUT some of Guild's models were notorious for running production changes. MOST of the Guitars there have a dated spec sheet attached, so the date of the specs should always be taken into consideration.
For the purposes of learning about Guild's "pecking order", the thing to do is note how the wood combinations used in a series ("D", "JF", etc) changes as the model number changes, then how the "bling" increases as the model numbers get higher. :D
