All is going fairly well with my ebay bidding currently. Unfortunately i recently discovered that the D17 does not come with a case. Still a beautiful guitar which i would like to win but the lack of a case is a setback. I was wondering how "abundant" or "scarce" the guild HSC are. There are new ones but they cost over 200 dollars. worth it im guessing but i want to explore the alternatives.
Cheers,
Drka

I will post in FS/FT when or if i win the guitar!
In hopes of finding a vintage one. (how much do they usually go for?"

I've seen them on eBay every now and again. I bought an older one about a year ago for about $80. I wanted one of about the same vintage of my 1977 D-25. I've seen nicer ones go for about the same price or a little more. Just make sure it's sized to fit a dreadnought.

Good luck on the D-17. :) It looks like a nice one.

TKL cases, both cheap and not so cheap should fit your D17. Personally I'd spring for something with at least an arched lid. I have a flat lid for my DV4 and I find no comfort in that.

+1 on the TKL cases. I picked one up (ever so slightly used) this past Fall for about $40 with the Guild medallion on it. Fits my D25 like a glove. They're out there - just watch for a while. With the cost of shipping a consideration, craigslist is the best place to watch.
