Can you order a Guild case directly from Guild?
I just read a post on the AGF that states that Guild will not sell a case without a guitar in it.

If this is true, how do you know if a case bought off of the internet will fit a Guild?

Whats the guitar TMG. As you may know there's been quite a lot of posts about cases for F20/M20's, and thetre's a guy selling an F30 case in the FS column. I think the dread and jumbo cases are a bit more universal ?

The current cases are made by TKL, if the TKL logo in my 512 case is any indication. As somebody said, most are probably pretty standard sizes.

TMG, as GuitarDude said, getting a case for a F20/M20 is a hill few have been able to climb. When I got my GAD 30R (new but had two small cracks from shipping) off ebay for $300 I didn't get a case. I was able to order a TKL from my local guitar shop that fits it like a glove and actually is a much better case than the tweed ones that come with the GADs. I've also purchased a couple of cases for my D55 (the original gave up the ghost years ago) one of the Gators that is a soft/hard case for local stuff and a hard shell for on the road. They aren't Guild cases but fit fine and protect it. If you let us know the model we can give you more specific suggestions. joan

I have one of these for my D25-12, and it fits perfectly. It's also a really nice case for a good price too. In my experience, dreadnought-style cases are all pretty much the same size. TKL cases seem to be just a bit better than the rest of them. I know that the Seagull Tric cases are popular with some here, too.

The guitar is an older D-25 with the big headstock.
All 3 of my original cases are from TKL, just for reference. The D40 has a large headstock and the case actually has an arched top. There's only a brass plaque on the side to indicate it's a Guild case. Should be able to find its generic type pretty easily.
I'm mildly surprised Guild wouldn't sell a standalone case, but in the oother hand maybe it's another warehousing expense they can't really justify any more.
Inside dimension measurements are pretty much the way to be sure a case will work. Finding soemone who can give that info might be the hard part. Since there are some slight variations in different maker's sizes a generic case would probably "work" but may not be a nice snug fit like the OEM case.

Sometimes you can find used Guild cases on eBay. I got one for my D-25. It even is about the same vintage as the guitar (and some vintage wear too :) )

Mrs. West got me a nice hardshell case for my '79 D25 archback a few years ago......I think she got it from eBay, but I'll check......fits like a pod over peas.
