A few years back I bought a 1965 Starfire II at a neighborhood yard sale. It came in a case that has about 6 more inches in length than the guitar. The SF sits well in the case, but the case just has more length than the guitar needs. The label in the storage compartment of the case reads "Guild Case 4516". Strangely, there is a penciled in "B" following the printed number. Is this a case for a bass (SF bass?) Theories? For example, did a worker at the factory put a wrong label in the case? One other note about the case: there has been a section of divider removed from inside. And there is no "Guild" emblem or any other markings on the case to indicating it is Guild on the exterior of the case. What think you all?

Thanks, nmiller. Since I keep the Starfire II in a nice, new Guild case I bought, it looks like I'll have to find a nice old SF Bass to fill up the emptiness of that 5 or six extra inches in the old empty case (I don't think my wife will buy that, but I've run out of rationalizations).
