When we last left my M-20 it was with Randy Wood, awaiting some work on the neck. While general thought was it needed a reset, Randy and Mark (luthiers extraordinaire) were pretty sure they could avoid or at least delay that. I got her today and she's great! The action is nice and low but doesn't buzz, my fingers and ears are thrilled. When I asked Mark what they did he said he gave it a "heat reset" and did some work on the nut and saddle. I'd never heard of a heat reset so asked him what exactly that was. Basically it's what it sounds like, he put heat on the neck, especially where it meets the body of the guitar. Once it was warm he was able to get the neck in better shape. (The total cost was about 25% of a neck reset...color me happy!)
Now I have the task of playing and playing and playing, getting used to the neck, size, and sound. Give me a couple of days and I'll post a sound file.
Thanks again for everyone's help on this community rescue project.

Case: At this point I don't have a hardshell case but am using a very good small Taylor gig bag that I also use for my NewYorker when I'm just going to the studio or somewhere to jam. I'm not thinking about a hardshell case yet but if/when I get there any suggestions?
Insurance: I carry musician's insurance on all my guitars but will need an appraisal before I can add this one. I usually use Gruhn online appraisal...any other suggestions?
thanks again for everyone's help...if anyone gets down this way give me a hollar and come one by and play. joan
