Welcome to LTG.
I like the tone of phospher bronze strings on rosewood guitars.
If you don't need the guitar to be real loud, you may want to try a set of DR Rare strings.
They are easy on the fingers and sound very nice.
One caution though, they are listed as medium gauge strings but the size is closer to lights.
This is one reason that they play nice but still have good volume.
Will you be placing a pickguard on your guitar?
If so, others here can tell you where you can get one that is shaped like a Guild pickguard.

Thank you guys

Loudness isn't a great issue i wouldn't imagine, i just got an LR Baggs M1a pup i put gigging for gigging.

I've had the guitar for a few months, it was my first foray into getting a decent acoustic, played electrics mainly, and have put d'addarios phospher bronze strings 13-56 ( but changed the 2 top strings to 12 and 16 ie from the light pack) I don't know what you think about using the 56's in terms of how it fits with the guitars construction, im told certain guitars typically take to certain gauges i might try the lighter set,

but at the moment it sounds flat and a boring, might need new strings, it might be something else ...could be me

Welcome rowdi.
Stay tuned and in tune and you'll like it here.
I haven't had the pleasure of laying hands/fingers on a GAD50 but I do have a couple of decades-worth of D50 experience.

I've found that in all the D-sized guitars I've owned, and certainly the Guilds, PB mediums work best for me. Any of the major brands seem to work fine and D'Addarios are on my guitars right now. Maybe because I picked up a bunch at a good price? But they are good strings.

Cheers,
Joe

HI rowdi, welcome aboard!
This is an educated guess on my part, but if you'r'e used to playing electric I'd actually suggest the complete light gauge set not just the top 2. Chances are good that's what it actually came with (D'Addario Phosphor bronzes .012-.053), that's what shows as OEM on Guild's site. I think if you've got a relatively light touch you can get more string oscillation (better volume) with lights which makes up for their lower tension, see what I'm getting at?
