As I was cleaning up the contacts in the 3-way switch of my Bluesbird, I discovered that there is only one way that the 3 screw holes on the access cover line up.

I have a bunch of Guild electrics where the back plates are the same deal. They'll only go on correctly one way. That leads me to believe that they were drilled by hand without a template, and also explains why I've seen so many guitars with stripped out screw holes on those back plate cavities.

It could be that there was a template and the template was drilled by hand without a template, but now it's starting to look like it's templates all the way down.

Silly me, I stopped when the second screw wouldn’t go it and took out the one already in. Shoulda just forced it!
