All other things being equal, a larger sound hole results in stronger treble response from the guitar, and a smaller sound hole results in a stronger bass response from the guitar.
Wow, that is counter intuitive. Lower frequencies have longer waves, thus you would think that a smaller hole would not allow those frequencies to escape from inside.
One would think that, wouldn't one....I think I'm gonna have to take one of my vintage Sandoz's and meditate on that for a while. I'll let you know what I figured out sometime next year. :?
My initial suspicion would be that yes, you WANT to keep the lower frequencies trapped inside to stimulate the top movement at those frequencies....."resonant" frequency would be the key term. Feel free to tear me apart, anybody, I might learn something while my ego's dead...

t's really simple actually. You need space to measure a location. You need time to measure speed. But time IS space. So you can only measure one at a time, speed or location..
I figured that out once on an acid trip.

So that means that kids really have to ask 2 seperate questions, when they ask 'Are we there yet'... :? and there might be somt truth to 'Wherever you go.....there you are.' or 'I can't be in two places at the same time.' now I don't even know if there are 'two places' or just one big place... and if its moving....no place??? :? I'm so confused. I need some coffee.....I think its over there......... Steffan
Make sure you get it from the bottle that has the "Drink Me" label on it.

Damn it!!! Two of my guitars are off by .975mm!!!!
Gotta burn them now.
Hendrix said he only did that when he figured they'd given all they had and would never give any better...it was a kind of sacrifice with honor...like burning aworn-out flag... 'course I think he was just building up the myth as usual...but if you decide maybe that's a little extreme and just wanna dis-own 'em instead, PM me, we could prob'ly work somethin' out...
Are they too big or too little? If they're too little, all you really need's a decent router!
