Hi guys how are you? I just saw a Fano sp6 standard in olympic white (good condition) from 2016 around 1400$. Any thoughts on this ones? Its a safe bet this price? I know they are discontinue and around 2100-2200 years ago.

Opinions on any fano lovers or ex owners?

Thanks!

I don't know them, ad I don't buy or sell a lot of instruments, so I Googled. The guitars are US-made — a plus. Used Fanos seem a bit over-priced in general, especially the relicked ones, for some reason.

But most folks seem to be asking a lot more than $1,400 for them. (I did find one for $1,300.) You can always make an offer.

It might also depend who made them. I read that the earlier builds were entirely made by Dennis Fano (Ash body, Rosewood fretboard), but the later builds come from the Premier Builders Guild (which is a great company as well) with Ash Body and Maple Neck. Don't know about the SP6 years or who built them in 2016. But there is some info in other forums, just look around a bit on the web.

EDIT: In 2016 Dennis Fano was no longer with Fano.

"Starting in 2009, the Fano brand further proliferated through a deal with Premier Builder’s Guild (PBG), which ramped up the production of team-built guitars in Arroyo Grande, California, while Dennis continued to make a smaller number of one-offs in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, where he’d lived and worked for several years. Dennis Fano parted with PBG in 2014, leaving his eponymous brand name behind in the deal, and the Fano line passed to Desert Son Musical Instruments in 2016, when PBG folded. Meanwhile, in 2014 Fano launched an entirely new guitar company, Novo Guitars."

A good read here:
