Hey folks,

If I'm reading the website correctly, the F-47M coming from New Hartford is a solid maple product. Was that true before (Tacoma)?

I'm heading over to the store this afternoon to check out an F-47 in inventory. Not sure if it's rosewood or maple though.

Hi Chazmo,
I have a F-47 in maple from Tacoma, which is solid, flat backed. Quite a nice guitar. There seems to be a few of them around still from the Tacoma days.
Good luck in finding one - seems you and I often have similar tastes, if not similar guitars!

Cool, thanks for the info, TJ!

Unfortunately, the guitar hadn't arrived yet and is late from the factory (it was supposed to be there in time for the holidays).

I'll be eager to hear your take on it when you have a chance to play it.
Happy holidays,

I have one of these from R.I........it has solid back, laminate sides (I can see that from the door for the electronics. Specs on the ones from R.I. vary, some were made with solid b&s some only back??? Mine was made in 2000, may have been a "millenium" kind of thing.....good luck with yours!!

Interesting info onewilyfool - didn't know the Westerly ones might have had laminate b & s. Although I think we have all learned to expect the unexpected from Guild.
Here's the spec, that I believe was current for the reintroduction by Tacoma. Note at the bottom it says this model was introduced April 07.

Chaz and all, on our foray to Union yesterday the F47 was not in...Played the New Hartford D55, D50, D40 and a Tacoma F30. The 512 was stunning, both in play and price, but cannot recall where it was mfd'd. The GAD 212 was gone :( They still had several GAD's and one new MIM D6.

The owner was very gracious to us, so I am sure if the F47 had been there he would have mentioned it.
