Vin,

I think all the current USA Guilds are nitrocellulose gloss, however the new Standard Series have satin necks. Really nice, by the way!

The DV-4 and DV-6 from Ensenada are hand-rubbed finishes, which are almost like raw wood... They don't make any small bodies though.

I think all the GADs are polyester gloss.

Hi Vin,

Chazzy is right, only the DV4 and DV6 are satin. The standard and traditional lines are both nitrocellulose, although applied differently to each line. The GADs have a polyester finish that is tough as nails.

What type of small body are you looking for?

Thanks for the replies guys. I was hoping one of the orchestra size models came in a satin finish. I have a GAD 30RE and you're not kidding about the tough as nails finish. I like the color though - the top is iced tea burst and the binding is kind of a maple color which contrasts nicely with the rosewood back and sides.
