I dropped a mirror inside my D50 yesterday and was surprised to see two different dates stamped inside of it. On the neck block it reads Oct 30, 1980 and one of the small braces next to the soundhole is stamped Oct 28, 1980.

Is this unusual?

It's not of any importance, of course. Just a geeky guitar history question.

I was feeling inspired by one of my favorite threads on this forum :

Of course what I saw looked exactly like GardMan's final diagram.

Hello Phil,

The dates you will find on various parts of your Guild are the dates that these parts were completed. It has nothing to do with the final completion date of your guitar.

Sincerely,

Thanks Hans.

I didn't realize that various sections of an instrument were dated individually.

Is there one date that would coincide with the serial number being assigned?
