Did I break it?

While performing I will often pound out some of the beats on the face of my guitar. Last week I was doing so and suddenly heard a loud pop-like sound emanate from my guitar. Since then, I haven't noticed any change in the sound or performance of my guitar but I'm wondering whether a glue joint has popped on some bracing, what the implications of such an event might be, who be qualified to do the repair, as well as, how it would be undertaken. Can I do the repair myself?

You can use a mirror to look inside... or stick your digital camera in there and snap a few pictures.

It could have been bracing under the top that might have loosened up or come unglued. Get it checked out because even if the guitar still sounds fine it may be structurally compromised. Things can gradually begin to go wrong over time as the strings continue to exert pressure on the top.

That's good advice... ignore it and you may hear a much louder snap, crackle and pop later. And hey... it's not a drum.

I would get it checked. If a brace goes unchecked, you could start getting cracks in the top also.
