I was wondering what the weak points of the DeArmond guitars are. For example, if I was to get somethig like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/DeArmond-M75-by ... 3a7abe1091 does it feel the same as an older M-75 as far as the neck and all? I can replace the electronics if that is the only major difference. I just love the way my M-75 neck feels as far as width and thickness.

Not very similar to the old ones IMHO. The Dearmond isn't bad for an inexpensive guitar, but due to the woods and workmanship it will tend to be noticably deader and duller sounding.

Some of the higher end ones are quite nice, but they never really found their niche, and FMIC blew them out for crazy low prices. As a rule, they're all pretty heavy.
