WOW what a night 3 hours of a lifetime of music...David was sharing the stage with Ollabelle..4 young people who did him justice and he did some back up for and with them too...Davis is such a master of everything he does... sometimes he squeezes a note or two out of his tellecaster...much like you or I might wring that last drop of water when we wring out a towel....other times he grabs note so fast...like catching a fly with your bare hand.... and Testify...he rules the stage and every one in front of it...my good woman held up my shirt and said what' that lipstick doing on it....I said you don't own me.....how many here have ever said you don't own me....she only said one word...only one word folks....."right"....then she went to the closet got out her high heels, that little miniskirt, that tight top....etc......and I learned 2 things that night....1..she can get a man a hell of a lot easier than I can get a women.....and 2 she doen't need my hairy a++ in the bed beside her....and on and on....5 minutes of the best blues/testimonial....as only David can do.....and he mentioned the unrecorded verse of Mr Bojangles...who told Jerry Jeff Walker, while in the drunk tank together...You know I've out lived 3 wives, and I never started drinking until my dog died........
I wish to not forget a moment of tonight, which was David's 66 birthday by the way....His new cd is called Use Me...and it should be a good one...I'll have to get a copy....He loved the musicability of the young people backing him up and sometimes the bass player got this goofy smile while watching David do his thing....all in all a stellar performance by everyone....I felt honored to be there...Steffan
