Interesting to note the different open backed tuners compared to my D35 which is about 7 years newer.

First time I've seen the label on the treble side of the guitar....looks nice, solid I mean. Too bad about the finish. Steffan

My '72 D-35 (SN is ~11,000 lower) has the same tuners. I think I have seen the labels just about everywhere (My D-35 is treble side, D-46 and D-55 are bass side)... in every orientation. Even pasted across the back brace (my D-44). Probably a reflection of who was putting the labels in during a given period...
