That looks like Brazilian rosewood to me. I don't think I've ever seen those kind of dark streaks on EIR. I believe (not at all sure) that those are mineral deposits in the grain.

It does look like Brazilian, doesn’t it. S/N 142112 does look to be 1976 so it would be very late. Maybe a special order or VIP build?

Earlier Indian Rosewood could look like that. I remember some IR with a lot of dark streaks. But BR is possible.

BR on a ‘76? They went that far?
Latest I ever recall hearing as was a '73 (or '74?) D50, with mixed back/sides, and only the sides were Braz, implying they didn't have pieces big enough for backs anymore (or it was reserved for very special use like the '03 50th Anniversary D55's)
