D-50 Going to Nashville

Hi All,

With the help of our fellow LTGer Chazmo, I had a very productive chat with Bruce Bolen at the Nashville shop the other day, and it looks like the D-50 will be on its way to them on Monday for a neck reset. It will in all likelihood be covered under warranty unless the guitar has been "substantively modified" (in Bruce's words). He said about the only thing that would stop them from covering the repair would be if the bracing under the top had been shaved down (which it hasn't), so I'm hoping for the best!

Hat's off to Chazmo, Bruce, and even Fender for collectively doing the right thing. I'm sure going to miss my baby though. It's been the first time we've been apart since she was new. <sniff> Wish me luck.

Is a receipt of purchase required to get warranty coverage? I bought my DV-52 ages ago (back in 1996? 1997?) and didn't know any better about keeping the receipt. Now, it's looking like it might need a neck reset done. Would much rather that it be covered under warranty, if possible...

I think that's a stipulation in the terms of the warranty, although there's certainly no harm in trying.
