Looking for 2nd state butcher covers is pretty much the first thing I do whenever going into a used record shop, and has been for over 30 years!! Never owned a first state (nor would I pay that sort of loot!) but I have scored a few 2nd states for pretty cheap from a shop that didn't know any better. (They are pretty easy to spot....just look for the faint outline of Ringo's black V neck coming through the white on the top right area of the steamer trunk. )

I see folks listing 2nd state butcher albums on eBay for anywhere from $800-$2000 depending on condition/UK/US/mono/stereo. No greater feeling than walking out of a record shop w/ one for $30.
