My D55's plain bone saddle was cracked, so today was the day to shrink a compensated tusk saddle, and make it snugly fit the bridge.
The intonation is much better now, and I have abrasions on My right finger tips to prove it.

Nicely done.

A trick I picked up from Dan Erlewines Book. Wrap some tape around a couple of your fingers, sticky side out. Then stick the saddle to that. His enough stick 'em to hold the saddle and you don't get the ground up finger bit.

Forgive the newb question . . . is the fingertip wear due to holding the saddle above a sanding belt, or some other abrasive device?

Lack of fingerprints could be a good thing, for some folks.

Y'know some of those other posts got me wonderin' too, but originally I thought he meant his fingers got a little wore out on the strings! (bareback finger pickin') :?:
