I like having the banner back. I'd like having it back even more if it didn't make the navigation buttons virtually unreadable.

Yeah, it's pretty readable to me too, rampside. It shows up as either white or black letters on the LTG background, which is no problem with my browser. Maybe frono was just a little too deep into the Abelour. ;)

Not very readable to me, but then my eyes are shot, too much staring at centerfolds as a child, I imagine.............
Centerfolds from Guitar Mags, that is! ;)

:) Maybe you're into the same bottle of Abelour, Harry? :)

j/k: I think Don will do some fine-tuning when he's able.

I can see them pretty clearly as well. Don't forget that hovering over them will activate a different background so they show up well.

What makes it hard for me to see is that the background is not 'constant' behind each individual word. We can blame it on my eyes, my laptop or my Scotch consumption but the fact remains that it is not an improvement for me, over the old board.

If I had to fix it I might try starting with the banner image and trying to add a strip of constant blue to the bottom of it. Whether that is worth doing, or not, can be someone elses decision, although I might play with some image editing software anyway.

Jamie, that could be a good and easy to implement idea, reducing the size of the banner and adding a blue strip like the left and right color of the page header to the bottom of the banner.

I looked at it in both Firefox and Safari and they are both fine at this end. Stretching the screen out as wide as possible makes the background cleaner for the transparent buttons. Since this is new web software for Don I doubt that anything is an easy fix at this point. Changing the image is pretty simple, but getting the buttons to fall where you want them is never as easy as one would hope.

Actually, from what I'm seeing at other forum, you could put the banner above the page generated by the forum's software and not behind the header. But as Don said, I suppose it requires more time and knowledge about the software itself.

A link to clarify (I hope), what I've lousy described: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?24491-Options-for-Multiple-Flac-files-and-Cue-sheets

All the best,
B.

P.S. BTW, forgive my complete ignorance of the technical language...

I see & know what you mean. Personally, I've never been a fan of websites that have soooo much header stuff that you have to scroll half way down the page to see any actual site content.

BTW, I did add a slight border around the tabs to make them more visible.

Don,

Oh, I understand. Nonetheless, I'm not sure if putting the banner above the page would imply sooo much header.

Anyway, as I guess you're still testing, I must say the new border only made things worse, in my case. Links like "New Posts" are almost invisibles.

Thanks, as always!

All the best,
B.

P.S. Thanks for changing the font color...

Hi Don, thanks for trying to improve the appearance! I know how cumbersome it can be! I think making the banner picture smaller and actually adding that darker side color stripe to the bottom of the banner itself (to the picture or whatever the banner is) should be the easiest fix to the problem. It looks currently like the banner itself is even bigger than before, so it made it a bit worse as Bruno said. Also the right side (search and advanced search) somehow looks stranger now.
