I’m looking at an old F-47 that does not have a case. Anyone know of one that would fit it?

As it has a 16" lower bout, and similar body depth, I imagine that just about any dreadnought case would fit well.

The tech at the store tried a dreadnought case and it didn’t fit. I doubt a GF case would work, and those prob aren’t any easier to find! Maybe a jumbo case with some towels?

Did they say how it didn't fit? I'm surprised, because the depth and the lower bout size are the same as a dreadnought. Could be that the upper bout is too big?

Good question. I was thinking the shape of the lower bout isn’t round enough. Those ‘60’s F-47s are not as round as the later F-40 shape.

I called and asked. What I got was "the bottom of the guitar is not as rounded as a dread and the waist is not at the same place.

Quite possible I guess. That's too bad. It's quite possible that a case for a Taylor 5/6/7/814 might work, in that case. Could be worth a try.
