So you're changing your handle to "threecorgis" Sandy?

"Multicorgis".

Why limit yourself? ;-)

This was all my bride's idea! She's been moaning about how we don't have a red and white Corgi anymore (Willie is a tricolor, and Tina is black and white with brindle points) and how she wants a red and white boy with a big white stripe on his face like our dearly departed Rugby (AKA the greatest dog ever). Well, along comes an opportunity to adopt a red and white boy Cardigan Corgi that was not making it as a show dog. He just turned two, and is a happy little fella as you can see:

Here he is with his mom Cindy on the left

And with his brother Rocky

His breeder is in Kansas City, but is driving to St Louis (home of Kevin the Bass Man) to meet me at the end of this month. Tucker is a very highly bred dog, but actually didn't make it as a show dog because he doesn't look masculine enough. His breeder isa also the chairman of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America, so it's quite an honor to be considered. The other good thing is that Willie just turned eight, and two year old Tina drives him crazy, so it'll be nice to have one her age to wear her out!

Wish me luck...

Is anybody else a little creeped out that in the OP link that the Bride is having her Bridesmaids hold Corgis instead of flowers?

Apparently she has some corgis but needs six more! I wonder how many Bridesmaids she has?

Thanks Grot, I was beginning to think nobody else saw the insanity of using dogs as wedding decorations!

Why thank you Eric! My wife actually wanted to walk down the aisle with Rugby at our wedding, and I wasn't very popular when I put the kibosh on that!

OK, Sandy. You may have aided and abettedmy Guild Acquisition Syndrome, currently in remission.

But no way are you going to suck me into Corgie Acquisition Syndrome.

You don't know what you're missing Neal. And not to be too pedantic, but there is no "e" in the singular of "Corgis". It's a Welsh word for "small dog" ;)

Not masculine enough? Who cares, he’s adorable! Gotta love Corgis; they always look so happy. CAS is definitely not a bad thing.

That's the way Corgis are, Rick. The boys look like boys, and the girls look like girls, and they're judged accordingly. He's a beautiful dog regardless. We'll now have two Cardigan Corgis (the kind with a tail), and Tina (our other Cardigan) is the happiest little dog I've ever met. Her tail is like a perpetual motion machine, and is really different after 20+ years of having Pembroke Corgis with no tails. The white tip really sets it off too. She's not smiling here, but she is most of the rest of the time.

Right now I’m trying to visualize a German Shepherd/Pug/Corgi household. It sounds like a chaotic joy. Like a new Guild, but sloppier. :joyous:

A lot of Corgi people own German Shepherds too, Rick. They're quite a bit more similar than you might think, and GSDs have always been my second favorite.

Regarding the OP, it's been discovered that elaborate weddings (the corgis for the bridemaids certainly qualify) with tons of guests are statistically more likely NOT to end in divorce. It's unusual but whatever works! My first marriage went down in flames and come to think of it my ex wife put little effort into our wedding...that continued post wedding, unfortunately. So maybe this young lady with her request for corgis is not a bad thing at all? By the way, great dogs Sandy. They must be a lot of fun to watch run around.
