Many of you have likely heard of the Brian Gallop School of Lutherie here in Mid Michigan. He's a well known and respected builder of his own line of guitars and also has an on site school where aspiring Luthiers go to learn their trade.
I bought this guitar from fellow LTGer, D 30 man a few years back. A friend of mine at the time fell in love with it and had to have it so I sold it to him. We had a falling out and hadn't spoken for a few years but reconnected recently. Unfortunately, another of his guitars fell against this one and put a crack in the side of the guitar. It hasn't been messed with and it's not at all horrible so I repurchased the guitar and it will be on its way to Tom Jacobs soon for repair and set up.
It's a really pretty 000 model with a beautiful Spruce (Sitka I believe) soundboard and highly flamed Maple back and sides. Except for the crack, it's pretty minty.
Unfortunately the seller was also a heavy smoker and it has "that smell" I'll be working hard to eliminate or at least reduce. It's bearable but I just don't care for that smell anymore. Brings back too many bad memories. Nice Gotoh tuning machines and an Ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Here's a few pics. I sure do like a beautiful Maple guitar.
