I always thought of him as a "computer programmer" more than a guitarist. His scenes in "It Might Get Loud" where he shows what he does with effects kind of reinforced that. But he is certainly a great rhythm player.

I laughed during the first song "It's a Beautiful Day", at the middle break, Bono says to him "play like The Edge" or something, and he plays a little "Edge-like" riff before the next verse.

I've heard enough U2 over the years at this point, I find Bono pretty pretentious, and their music pretty one dimensional. Loved them when they first came out, though, such a different sound, and certainly a very unique guitar style and sound by The Edge.

But this clip is a pretty cool little concert with the kids singing, etc., and in general the acoustic versions are a nice change of pace. The Edge is playing some great rhythm!

And it's refreshing to see two guys who have been friends since they were kids still enjoying each other's company.

A lot of people think The Edge is overrated because he's so reliant on effects, but I don't agree. I think he might be the greatest master of effects ever. And while I'm not a huge fan of U2, and think that Bono can be a bit of a blowhard, I love all the sounds that The Edge gets on this two chord song.

One of my fave songs of all time. The slide work is brilliant. One of best solos of all time.

Edge hitched up the wrong guitar trailer.

I recently rewatched the 1993 ZooTV concert and am still blown away. I don't play with pedals, but synching all that delay with the music seems harder not easier to me. I didn't have an appreciation for Edge's GAS when I first saw it 30 years ago either. If you have a spare two hours and something to drink....

On "It's a beautiful day" I thought Bono sounded like Lou Reed 😊
And when the kids came in At 1st, I thought it sounded like they were saying a dirty word
