I misread the last word as Ironic and spent way too much time trying to figure out what was ironic.

However I did find

Their secret was simple--use working bands from NYC, bring them to the studio during the day when they weren't working, have everything
set up (drummer just brought his cymbals, there was a bass and piano there) and let them play.
Rudy was a brilliant engineer, sometimes the piano is a little dull sounding, but aside from that the sound of these recordings is the sound of jazz--open, airy, the music breathes--they are just great.
