The Canadian group, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, are Colin Linden, Stephen Fearing, and Tom Wilson. They formed initially to do a tribute album of covers, songs written by their friend and mentor, Canadian singer/songwriter, Willie P. Bennett. They all have individual careers, but there has been over the many years a commitment to keep Blackie and the Rodeo Kings going.

Among them, Colin Linden is probably the best not-well-known in the US. He moved to Nashville where he works as a producer and session player. He also seems to have become the curator of the recorded legacy of his friend, Bruce Cockburn. He has worked extensively with his friend, Emmy Lou Harris, serving as the leader of her touring band on a number of occasions.

They, for some reason, are the band that just can’t get a break, despite however hard they work. And they do work hard. They have a strong cult following but remain largely ignored mainstream.
