I recently ran into a former co-worker whom I hadn't seen in over 20 years. He is a fine guitarist, and we had done some jamming back-in-the-day. He was carrying a guitar case, and in it was a D-25 in a colour that I'd never seen. It was all black, nitrocellulose finish, rosewood fretboard. The only contrast were the fretboard dots, nut and saddle, the thin white trim strip around the edge of the top and the "Guild" decal. He told me that he'd been so impressed by my D-25 that he bought one as soon as he could afford it (approximately 1987, after he took a better-paying job).

Sorry, no photos. Has anyone seen or heard of a black D-25?

I've seen some strange rainbow colors on Corona D25s, but this one should be Westerly. Did they make them there too?

Yup, Jeff has one.

Also Steffan has a white one. There are blue, green, red......

......and I like it......one day we'll have a patriotic jam.......red white and blue....take a picture, Graham can fuss with it and we can send an autographed copy to Guild....  of coarse in Canada it'll be a little easier......just red and white...... Steffan

Yep, I have a black D25, Midnite is her name. Bought it from Craigslist, by far the best deal I've seen on a D25.

Loaned her to Jerry, an inmate at a local nursing home, he had her for a couple years. She took a licking & keeps on ticking, required some serious clean up & a trip to the fret Doctor after the ordeal. Tough guitar.

This black D212 has been advertised on Seattle's Craigslist for a couple weeks, I really don't need a 12 string & so far have resisted the temptation to own a matched pair of black beauties.

Beautiful, Jeff. Is it a mid-1980s?

Good on you for lending it to Jerry. I'm glad she cleaned up afterwards. (PS - that's a serious collection of chisels!) :D

If I'd seen that picture at the post office I'd have thought it was taken just after a heinous crime had been committed, or maybe just before...wink:   Steffan
