Any X-50 owners have a suggestion? I'd like to find a nice case for my 64 X-50. The chipboard case it came in is in mint condition, but not really suitable for carrying it around in securely. I'm wondering if the Godin TRIC cases will work since the Godin 5th Ave appears to be the same body size as the X-50. Anyone know what cases work best for this kind of body style?

I ordered an SKB case for my D25 from Amazon, $107...Tom says it fits like a glove...as far as Tric...I have one that fits my Guild Dread, but just. The bubble top is against the top of the foam, and they do make a case for the smaller bodied kingpin...5th Ave...Steffan

The Tric case will probably work fine....

Or any case that suits a 16" Gibson archtop like an ES-125, ES-175, L-50, L-4 or the like will work well for your X-50. TKL makes a few versions of those.....

My '55 X-50 lives in an old Lifton ES-175 case but fits in one of the lower priced TKLs...

I'll bet this one would work, and it's hard to argue with the price!
NICE! I bought the Silver Creek dread case you mentioned to me once before, very very nice cases for the money. I cant tell much difference in the SC dead case and the case that the Collings I have came in.

I'll have to check into one of these, thanks, Sandy! Can't bear the idea of carrying around my new love in the chipboard case...

Hi mojo - I got a great TKL case for my '66 Casino from Joe at www.archtop.com. Look under "accessories" on the web site. Not cheap, but it fits perfect and the case is very high quality. I'm sure he can help you out if you email or call him.

Thanks walrus, i will check with him and see if he has any suggestions. after chatting with Hans about it, he said the X-50 from that period is a little wider than 16 at the upper bout so the standard archtop case might be a snug fit. I'll have to measure it when I get it back from setup though.

My '55 X-50 fits in this type of TKL case....

The side padding compresses to allow for any small amount of extra width that the X-50 might have over something like an ES-125.

Thanks Z!

I will have top contact them to get the measurements on it. $125 is a little out of my price range for now, so if the Silver Creek case is the same size, i'll have to get that one.

thanks! can't wait to get the X-50 back from my luthier...
