I just heard that some terrorists are holding thirty banjo players hostage... they're threatening to release one every six hours until their demands are met!

A disheveled man accosted me at a bus terminal the other day and asked me for a couple of dollars to get a drink.  I started to hand him the money, but then I said, "Wait a minute... how do I know you won't spend this on food?'

I sure hope they give them what they want.

Hey, some of my best friends are banjo players!

It's o.k., we'll still let you hang out here.

Have you considered a 12-step program.

Mine too... fortunately most are pretty good natured about the constant abuse. I know a few drummers too... in fact, one of them got locked in the car last week and we had to break a window to get him out!

You mean a 12-string program? I keep suggesting that, no luck so far.

Why ruin a perfectly good window :?: It would have helped to muffle the noise, too

Pay them double - then they might execute them into the bargain

Whadayuh call a banjo that lands in the dumpster without hitting the sides?
Nothin' but net!

Whadayuh call a banjo player without a girlfriend?
Homeless.

What's the definition of an optimist?
A banjo player with a beeper.

I used all these a few weeks ago for my friend who plays oboe, too. Just substitute oboe for banjo in all cases.

Stop me if you've heard this one...

You're lost in the woods and you see the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and a banjo player, playing in tune. Who do you ask for directions?

Either the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. You know the in tune bajo player is just a figment of your imagination.

(First heard that one with a soprano saxaphone taking the abuse).
