My recollection is that they are fairly scarce. My recollection is that as a pure acoustic instrument it lacks the power of the more readily available B50 or B30.

The bass showed up in the Jan 1993 price list as B500C (missing the E) and in the April 1983 price list correctly described as B500CE:
There might be 1992 and 1993 models.
The September 1993 price list didn't show it anymore. So it was just a small window of time of production.
