Another SF Bass sighting

Weird control layout! Looks to me like it was an early '66 SFB-I (with the "sweetspot" pickup and pre-suck-switch) that had the neck pickup added and the three outer-most control holes added. Looks like a switch is now where the original volume knob would have been.

I was going to politely disagree with you but now that I see the closer image, yeah, things are strange.

I might argue that the uppermost four holes correspond to a factory SF II's VT controls in location but the hole, and associated knob above the output jack is definitely non-standard. We can discuss, if needed, but the fact that the f hole looks wrong makes me think the camera angle is a factor in my perception. No hole where I would expect a suck switch. I would expect evidence of a MV and a toggle on a factory SF II although I have a vague recollection that II's pre-suck were rare and didn't always have the MV.

I wonder if the bridge saddles have been replaced with something custom. One saddle for two strings and paddles might be harder to intonate but might stop saddles from sliding on the paddles.
