Hi

So, I have this guitar I love, a 66 SF-V, along with its original case. The case is really in very nice shape, but I notice that its padding is no longer tight to the guitar, leaving it to clunk around a bit when I move it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good quality aftermarket case I can use for regular storage and transport of the guitar? Note: I am not taking this thing on any airplanes, just in the back of the car from one place to the next in my home area of western MA.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Ah well. The shame of it is that the case is in really nice shape. It's just that whatever padding is under the lining seems to have gone flat. I can toss a towel in it to tighten things up, but it looks a little less cool and I worry a bit about putting tension against the body in an uneven way. Whatever. It's all good. PLUS - playing out tonight, so life is good!

I'd think that if you arranged with an upholster to use some of that 'memory foam' he could re-do the inside of your case, or at least make a covered pad that you could adhere with glue or velcro....hey, Its worth a shot...2ns opinion, an epiphone case for a Sheriton model...should be around $100..3rd opinion...can't be done, and you should get rid of the guitar to give you some peace of mind...email me.. Steffan

I bought a Starfire case (for my XII) on eBay a month or two ago - there were three listed then, as I recall. Keep a weather eye out, you'll find one.

I think I'll take it to an upholsterer and see what they have to say. And if that doesn't work, I'll check out an Epiphone case. And if that doesn't work, I look for a case on EBay. But I probably won't sell!

Thanks for the ideas guys -- Steve

I got a very nice, perfect fit, brand new TKL case from Joe at www.archtop.com for my 1966 Epiphone Casino. You might shoot him an email and see what he can get.

walrus,

Thanks for the info. I'm interested in one too. I'll give them a shout as well.
