Advice requested 1984 f-44

Nice guitar in good not great shape. It had an endpin jack, but I couldn't see a battery holder. Theu want $1050.00. That seems high. Anyone know what market value is for this model?
It would make a dandy companion for my F-212.

Hard to say without a better idea of conditon. Prices on these seem to have crept up some, due to the Gruhn/Walker connection, and the fact that they are great sounding instruments. I'd be interested in an F-44 for a grand....

I have one, purchased new in 1987. Never an instant of regret.

If the one you have in your sights is in good or better playing condition, that's a very, very good price, IMO.

If it's in good condition, that's a great price. I've seen F44s in excellent condition fetch anywhere from $1500 to $1800.

Pictures, or a link would help. If you're trying to keep things under wraps, feel free to send a PM - I already have an F44, so I won't battle you out for another one.

I bought mine in the late nineties for $500, which was a steal. At the time Gruhn offered me a $1000 for it - sight unseen!

I went back and played it for 45 minutes. After a while I started flatpicking hard and there was a rattle. I isolated it to the 4th string A note. It sounded like a loose brace. I also found three or four deep finish cracks on the top by the bass side of the neck, they don't seem to be anything to worry about structurally. The salesman is going to have the repairman look at it for the buzz.
I was not thrilled with it even before the buzz so I am dropping the idea of getting it.
If anyone wants to check it out, it is in the Clearwater Fl. Sam Ash om McMullen Booth Road. I misremembered (thanks Roger Clemmens) the asking price it was $1199. They will negotiate some. If you call ask for Danny and tell him Bob told you about the guitar.
