HDNET is running a two hour special devoted to the memory of John Denver. It's part of their HDNET Concert Series and was filmed in Denver and features the Denver Symphony Orchestra as backup.

Olivia Newton John hosts and still looks great. But...

Prepare yourself for some of the most God-awful covers you've ever heard. Talk about singing off key!!!!

However, there was at least one very nice Guild 12 string used.

John's music deserved better performers.

I never got it as far as who was invited to appear on John's shows.
I doubt he got to pick.
I watched all of his TV shows but I was always disappointed in the program content. Dumb skits and less than great guest stars.
I guess it was just the times. Remember Laugh In.
