Hello

Years ago I installed a 2TEK bridge in my friends 5-string bass. He is quite happy with it. He has never seen another anywhere. Does any of you have experience with 2TEK ?

Thank you.

Yes, I have two guitars fitted with a 2Tek bridge.

One is a Hamer Cruise bass, kindly given me by an American friend for my 60th birthday. I rarely play bass, but the guitar is often used by the bass players in my band. They love the clarity of the notes and sustain.

You can hear it being played in this video. See it around 1:25

I also have a Les Paul Standard with one fitted. I bought the 2000 LP in 2010 and had the bridge fitted by a friend in early 2013. Yes it was a bit of a decision that many Gibson fans, perhaps don't like, however I'm also a Gibson fan and anyway it was my guitar.:)

I mainly play Les Pauls and currently have 6 including this one. It's difficult to compare this one to the others as they are all Custom Shop and this is just a Standard, albeit with Bareknuckle PG Blues rather than the Gibson one fitted. The previous owner had changed the pups not me.

I had played this guitar for nearly 3 years though, so knew what it sounded like beforehand. Like my bass, the notes seem to have more clarity and yes it also has good sustain. The only downside is that it's heavier than before. I haven't weighed it, but I guess it must be around 10lbs, certainly heavier than my other LPs.

My American friend is associated with 2Tek and a friend of Vince Gill who also has a Les Paul with a 2Tek bridge
