Ian (guitardude) clued me into this one ebay '78 Guild M20 that sold for $2,275. Now as the new owner of a '65 M20 I'm thrilled to see that high price but really...what went on there? There were 4 bidders and 16 bids, it went up over a thousand in the last hour with two bidders active. Do you think the connection to Daniel Lanois made a difference or that the bidders thought they were actually getting Daniel's guitar rather than the same model? Also, does anyone have a '78, did they come with the standard Guild pickguard then? Here's a real kicker...the same guitar was on Craig's List in LA for $1200 Craigs List '78 M20 guess it paid to go beyond the local market!...but wait...the date on the Craig's List is 9/27 and the ebay one sold on 9/25...can't figure this one out...

The guitar did not sell.... I live in LA and was paying very close attention... The next day it was then listed buy it now for half that price than a few hours later it was removed.... ? The 2300 was not a sale.... Strange

So the non winning second bidder got it for somewhere about half what he bid up to the first time round ? Man, I'd be gutted if I were the seller (actually I'd be broke cos I'd already have spent the money...)
