Ok, it's not a GUILD ACOUSTIC GUITAR, but....I just recently bought a late 19th Century "Waldo" Gut String Banjo. Got it for $100. I am very interested in the fact that if I have all of the information correct, this little banjo is about 110 years old. Supposedly, this banjo was made by the Waldo Mfg Company, of Saginaw Michigan and sold by the Barrows Music Company of Saginaw, MI, sometime between 1894 and 1902. There is a serial number on the 'dowel stick' (that braces the pot) of #1604. It has a nickel 11 " pot and a cowhide head and a cherry neck. The only parts that I believe are not original are the tuners. The guitar store owner / and friend of mine, is getting it back together and I've ordered some Aquila Nylgut Strings. Once I get it home, I'll get some pictures posted.
