Hello all !
I joined here looking for information about the mid 80's Bluesbirds with the EMG's, Kahler trems and 6 on a side headstock. Wayyyy back in the distant past, I remember seeing pictures of both Brian Setzer and Earl Slick with these guitars, and at the time remember some quick references in magazine articles etc. of a Setzer designed Bluesbird...I recently have a renewed interest in these guitars,( Don't laugh ! I'm getting nostalgic for the mid 80's in my old age !) but information and photographs about them seems very thin on the ground .
I got as far as a tribute site for the Nightbird that shows a scan of the Guild pricelist and it mentions a Setzer designed model with 3 pickups and a 799.00 price tag.
Does anybody here have some pics or information about these guitars ? There are a couple for sale presently on Ebay, including a black one with a refin and trem coverted to hardtail which seems to have been all over the 'net, as well as a red model with some sort of blade pickups. What is a reasonable amount to expect to pay for one of these ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out !

Thanks for the kind words and the thread link ! I actually did a forum search and turned up more info available here as a member than just as a guest. I did indeed see the thread with the ad etc.
Very cool, and very 80's...as was mentioned, it does look a bit bizarre seeing the EMG's and locking trem around all that tweed !
I have done some investigation online re: prices on these models and they are all over the map, but a very clean example in black recently went for mid 1200.00 USD range so that gives a pretty good barometer to guage prices against.
Thanks again !
Don

There is a Members Only section that you have to be logged in to see (or search). A lot of the eBay discussions were moved there when there was anecdotal evidence that the LTG discussion of specific instruments was driving prices up. Of course that was when people tended to under price their Guilds. Nowadays an LTG price discussion is more likely to comment on the seller's inflated hopes which a lot of sellers don't appreciate.
