I suspect that this is an effect produced by the lighting The guitar would have been new, which rules out shrinkage. Pretty sure that there was never any binding on any version of the S-300 (though there was a very rare S-400 model which had the same body shape, with binding on the body, neck and headstock, but also with a G shield, rather than Chesterfield inlay).What's with the rim of the Guild headstock?
